Map Dresses
This world map dress is from Elisabeth Lecourt's lovely collection of map-wear.
Unfortunately, Lecourt's adorable map dresses and shirts are art pieces and aren't meant to be worn. Too bad. I love the retro-futuristic appeal of the disposable paper dress. Read about the history of the paper dress here. I actually own one that's still in its original 1960s packaging. Check it out:
I'm saving it for a special occasion. Perhaps my first cocktail party on the moon.
The idea of wearable paper dresses in map prints is super appealing. Think of the possibilities: star maps, historical maps, nautical maps, maps of fictional worlds. For starters, I want one printed with this 17th Century map of North and South America and one with a map of New Crobuzon.

You should take the measurements from your current one to make a pattern. Glue stick is easier than sewing.
