Paris Fashion Week: Polar Chic
Beware the abominable snowmodel!
I want a faux fur yeti suit! It looks so soft and real. It's from Karl Lagerfeld's Fall 2010 collection for Chanel, which features tons of beautiful fake fur. According to Lagerfeld, Technical advances are so perfect you can hardly tell fake fur from the real thing.
I wonder if fake fur is anywhere near as warm as actual fur.
The extravagant show was intended to address global warming. Lagerfeld commissioned a 265-ton iceberg from Sweden to symbolize the polar ice caps and the models walked down the melt-slicked runway. The starving, fur-covered models represented the polar bears. At least, that's what I'm guessing. I just hope they don't start cannibalizing each other like the polar bears have.
